I've been a professional software developer for 19 years working in ad-tech and high volume web services.
I consider myself a futurist programmer and have built world-class development teams and scalable systems at multiple startups.
I've been using AWS since 2008, and have been recognized by Amazon as an AWS Community Hero ("a program designed to recognize and honor our most engaged developers who’ve had a real impact within the community.")
Most recently I was Director of Engineering at Bizo, which was acquired by LinkedIn . What I was most proud about my time there was the amazing team and culture we built.
I run a regular AWS/tech podcast, Engineers & Coffee along with co-host, Donnie Flood.
I am available for AWS/programming contract work and I am especially interested in:
I'm also interested in general programming work. My most recent experience is with Scala/Java, but recently I've been using python, especially for lambda functions. Although they're somewhat new to me, I'd be interested in getting involved in kotlin, typescript, elm, rust, or go projects.
I may also be able to help or advise around development process or developer mentoring.
Please get in touch and we can figure out if it's a good fit together -- I always enjoy chatting about AWS and software development.
